Stacey C. Penny has over 20 years experience of working within the non-profit sector at executive and senior management levels, including her most recent position as Vice President of Individual of Corporate and Foundation Relations at March of Dimes. Stacey also led the National Healthy Start Association as its Executive Director from 2009 until 2012. Prior to this position, she was the Associate Director of Women, Children and Infants at the Association of Maternal and Child Health Programs after starting her career at the National Black Child Development Institute in 1998. She is currently the President and founder of The Penny Consulting Group, a boutique-consulting firm that collaborates with entities such as organizations, agencies, foundations and public relations firms who are focused on improving the lives of children and families. The Penny Consulting Group provides clients with services around strategic development, cause awareness and engagement and executive leadership development. Stacey also lends her experience and expertise as an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Southern California, School of Social Work, Virtual Academic Center.
With advanced degrees in Social Work and Public Health, Stacey has also served on a number of boards and committees, including the DC Diaper Bank, National Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition; Women’s Roundtable, Futures without Violence; The Committee on Implementation of the IOM Pregnancy Weight Guidelines; Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Preconception Care Consumer and Public Health Workgroups; and the HRSA Expert Workgroup on Postpartum Depression and Intimate Partner Violence.
Stacey is a Chicago native, living in Maryland with her husband and very funny 7-year old daughter who keep her on her toes.
